Predeployment

Getting ready for a deployment sucks. There really isn't a more politically correct way to say it. It just SUCKS. I've been through 3 so far and thought that was bad until a girlfriend of mine told me she was on #6. SIX. It's insane. So it's nice to get to capture a few happy moments for a family as they are going through the stress of it all.

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to play with K and her 3 beautiful kids (K, you and your husband are in trouble when these kids are teenagers! They'll all be heart throbs!). You can see more photos of them on my regular blog but here are a couple more for you.

Love the response!

Hi All,
Wow! Can I just tell you that the response has been overwhelming! That doesn't even cover it, really. Thank you everyone who has gotten in touch with me for help documenting homecomings and your families in general. I could be one busy girl just doing OpLove shoots! Unfortunately, there are only so many in a year that I can do. If your loved one is deploying or already deployed get in touch with me soon. I only have a couple of OpLove spots left for this year. Don't worry though: if I can't help you out I am in touch with other OpLove photogs and there is no doubt in my mind that we can find someone to meet your needs. With that, I leave you with a picture from a homecoming I shot last week. I can't wait to post more photos from this one! Gorgeous morning, STUNNING family. What more can a photog ask for?

Welcome!

Recently I joined up with a great program called Operation Love Reunited. It is a program where photographers donate their time and skills to take fantastic portraits of families who have a family member in the military and deployed. The photos are a really important way to keep the families feeling connected during difficult times and it's a great way for me to say thank you to the military for everything they do.

If you are in the San Diego area and have a spouse or loved one deployed contact me for more information about this great program or you can go check out the details at http://oplove.org/.
